What a week, lots of developments..... I will probably be transferred next week!!! 7.28.2014 Feliz fiestas patrias, Peru!!!

Jose Mercado (an investigator) gave us this Real Madrid Jerseys, so nice of him to do that

Brother Yaurivilca from Peru and his son, he is an amazing member missionary

Marcia (an investigator) and I at her house
Que mas familia!

This is how our Colombian investigator greets us. She is awesome. I am glad all is well and has been a productive summer. It is highly likely that I will be transferred next Tuesday. I will know this Sunday. I have been in Plainfield for almost six months but feels like it has gone fast. Here is the latest with our investigators:
Efrian: We met with him last Wednesday and shared John 21. We replaced Peter with his name and it read" Efrian love me more than these." (Referring to his sin) He responded well to the lesson and said that there will be a change coming soon to either separate or to get married with his girlfriend. He is still coming to church and wants to get baptized.
Sariah: She could not meet with us this last week but is reading the BOM. We have an appointment with her this week.
Reina and Rudy: We have not seen them for almost a month but they still want us to come back. They are still reading the BOM and have set up an appointment with them this Thursday.
Jose: We have picked up a new investigator named Jose is from Guatemala. We made a deal if we visit his church; he comes and visits our church. We went to his church which was an Evangelical church, there was alot of yelling and singing. It was an interesting experience. He forgot to come to our church but have an appointment with him tomorrow.
Juanchi: He is almost dropped; he has confirmed three appointments and all of them have fallen through. We are going to give him one more chance.
Raquel: We taught her last week after not teaching her for almost two and half weeks. We talked about the BOM and gave her a bible study sheet about verses about the BOM. We met with her two days later and she did alot of the bible study sheet. She said that she will read and pray about it.
Marcia: She knows that the church is true and is very kind to us. Her two sons and her boyfriend are baptized but have been less active for awhile. She has been living with her boyfriend for almost 25 years. She also was previously married and is trying to get divorced but cannot find him. We are encouraging her to be more proactive in finding him or seeking other options.
Melvin: He came to church yesterday after not coming for two weeks. He still wants to be baptized so he can replace his lost records. He is slowly progressing. We are meeting with him tonight.

We have been also teaching less actives as well. Last week, President Taggart asked us to look for the future leaders of Plainfield among the less actives. We are working with Jose Mercado who has not come to church for over a month. He says he does not want to go to church. I felt prompted to invite him to come back not only to be served but to serve as President Taggart asked us to do. Jose said he is not ready but said he will prepare to come back to church. The spirit was very strong. Also Elder Germaine had lunch with him last week in Plainfield and said they had a good time. I love you all so very much. Dad, Mom, Tanner and Mckay. Thank you for all your support.
Love,
Elder Plummer

Visit with cousin Milko - a lot of our appointments fell through but we are not giving up - July 21. 2014

It was so great to see my cousin, Milko Luna, visiting all the way from sunny California

Dear family,
I am glad that dad, Mckay and Tanner arrived home safely from the high adventure experience at Zions National Park. We had a great visit with Milko. We mostly talked about our families. We talked about what we did as missionaries and the church for alittle bit. He said that he is happy to be Catholic and talked about New York for the rest of the time. It was fun! This last week was one of our lowest weeks of teaching. Alot of appointments fell through. Efrain is progressing well. He said that he is going to do a change with his living arrangements but was not very specific. We had to move Melvins baptism date because he did not attend church and did not meet with us. We were going to teach Juanci two times this last week but he fell through. Samuel as well fell through but wants to come to church and will probably teach him next week. Sariah ditched us as well but we have an appointment with her next week as well. He is a great guy. We also found our investigator named Marcia who was home for the week because of eye problems. She wants to get baptized but needs to get divorced first.
We just had interviews with President and sister Taggart, it was great. I feel that they are my parents. He is slowly getting accustomed as mission president. Well, this next week we are going to work hard. We have appointments set up next week. Well,I love you all so much. I hope you all have a great week.

Welcoming our new Mission President, President Taggart and his family!

Buenas tardes familia,

Thank you Mckay for the note. I really appreciate it! I hope they have a good time at Zions National Park. I talked to Milko last Saturday night and set up a time on Wednesday, he will take the train down to Dunellen and we are going to have lunch. President Taggart said that you were really nice and he gave me a hug from you. Thank you! What a pleasant surprise. He also told me about Milko as well. You probably already know that Ben got his call to Tokyo, Japan mission! He is so excited.
Thank you for praying for my investigators! Here are there names and their commitments:
Efrain- be prepared for baptism by keeping the law of chastity.
Raquel- Reading Alma 40 and praying to know if the BOM is true.
Samuel- continue to read the BOM and remember his appointments :)
Melvin-continue to meet with us, attend church and read his scriptures.
Samuel works two jobs and is very busy and is usually very tired when he comes home and forgets our appointments. He is great though and wants to change his way of life.
We also taught Sariah from Ecuador the Restoration. She was very attentive and said that the great apostasy makes sense and there was a great spirit during the recitation of the first vision. We committed her to read 3 Nephi 11 and pray about the BOM. Yesterday at church we had five less actives at church. Two of them went on their own without us reminding them. We are very proud of them.
Yesterday we found the part member family that we were teaching back in May but had to drop them because they were never home. We taught them about keeping commitments and we reestablished our expectations. It was a very spiritual lesson and asked them why we ask them to keep commitments? They said to get us closer to God. We recommitted them to keep all the commitments we leave them. We are also going to help them with their English as well. We have been helping some less actives with their English and sometimes we teach them a gospel and an English lesson. President and Sister Taggart are very intelligent and hard working people and very spiritual. They brought with them their 17 year old daughter, Emily and their10 year old daughter,Sophie. They are just an awesome family. I know that this church is true and I know that we are assisting in God's work.

I love you Dad, Mom, Tanner and Mckay.

The Spirit is the Senior Companion in this Work -- Flooding in the streets of New Jersey - July 7, 2014

Querida familia,

Gracias por las fotos de Paris, Francia. It looked like alot of fun. I can tell you guys learned a great deal. I am excited for Heidi to go to Minnesota! She is going to love the Mexico MTC! Well last week was President Taggart's first week. We are going to meet him this Thursday. President loves to golf and is very spiritual and intelligent. His wife sound like she is very energetic. I am excited to meet them. Last week we taught Melvin and he came to church. He told us he usually has a strong temptation to watch the world cup or go out and play soccer, but decided to go to church. We are proud of him and is planning to be baptized July 27th! We have been able to see the light of Christ and has said he is more happier. Hermano Medina, who served in Arequipa, has been doing great followshipping him and has had a great impact on him. We are grateful for him.
We also taught Efrain and went through the baptismal questions with him. A senior couple called the Baileys have fellowshipped Efrian and have become great friends and they came with us. When we got to the law of chastity, he said that he is living with his girlfriend which we knew and said that he has a plan to resolve it. We told him that he will need to resolve this problem before he was baptized. He was surprised, because he received a phone call from a member saying that he can be baptize and he can figure out his law of chastity problem later. We told him that is not correct and was pretty sad that he might not be able to be baptized by July 25th. He said he is going to think about it and is trying to figure out how he will move out. He is a brave guy and came to church yesterday and has told us he wants to be involved in the church as much as possible. Continue to pray for him! We are going to go meet with him tonight. He is awesome.
We have not been able to meet with Rudy and Reina this last week. But we have called them and have been reading the BOM. We are going to meet with them next week with our first councilor in the branch who are paisanos with them.
We were not able to meet with Sayria either, but have an appointment with her this week.
> We have met with Raquel twice last week and have been talking about the BOM. She was honest with us last visit and told us she did not want to go to church because she wants to go back to the Pentecostal church she has grown up in. Continue to pray for her as well. She is having a hard time accepting the BOM as scripture. Tonight we are going to bring a sister from the branch that was converted from the Pentocostal church to come and teach with us tonight. I will let you know how it goes. Last week we helped a less active and a former investigator move which took a couple of hours for each of them. We have been getting a lot of rain lately with usually 1 and half to three inches of water. It looks like we might get more thunder storms this week as well. I love you very much, Dad Mom, Tanner and Mckay. I know that this church is true and the spirit is the senior companion.

Love,

Whom The Lord calls, He qualifies!!! June 30, 2014

Trying to share the gospel with these great service men at the Manhattan Station in NYC

Hola Familia!
Como estan? How are you and Mckay enjoying Paris? This last week we taught Efrian that has a baptismal date for July 25, about following the prophets. He received the lesson well and said he will follow President Monson and sustain him as a prophet. Even before we were going to ask him to pray about it, he said he will follow the prophet. He is awesome.
Yesterday Efrian could not come to church because he was called in to work. But we had our investigator, Melvin, who is being baptized again due to his loss of records came to church. We committed him to be baptized on July 27. We also had 3 less active attend as well. This last week we earned four new investigators. Sariah, who is from Ecuador, Catolina, Rudy and Reina from Guatamala. Rudy and Reina were born in the States and are very humble people. They have had many spiritual experiences and trials in there lives and want us to visit them regularly. We are excited for them. Yesterday I had a cool contacting experience. We were contacting someone who was not interested, and while we were contacting him, a young man was just staring at us. After we finished, I felt we should contact him. He said he was from Guatemala and has been in the states for two years. He also said he wants to make changes in his life and is tired living in sin. We have an appointment with Samuel next Friday. I am grateful to be a missionary and at times I feel that I am weak and that my testimony is not strong enough, but I know the Lord qualifies whom he calls. I love you Dad, Mom, Tanner and Mckay.

June 23, 2014 - Summer is here..... Visit to the Manhattan Temple in New York City

A wonderful visit to the Manhattan- New York City Temple

This family from El Salvador is wonderful, they are very happy all the time.

Hey everyone,

Well, last week I attended the Manhattan temple. It was such an amazing experience. It was fun going through the New York subways as a whole zone. Last Friday we had a cool experience. We were walking back from an appointment that fell through when Elder King felt prompted to go talk to a women and her kids sitting on there porch. We introduced ourselves and asked if we could share a message about Jesus Christ. She said yes and started teaching her about the important role Jesus Christ's atonement. She said she has a strong faith in Jesus Christ and introduced the Book of Mormon saying how it is another testament of Jesus Christ. We started teaching her about how the proper authority from God has been restored. The spirit was so strong, we felt prompted to invite her for baptism. She accepted and set up a next appointment for next Friday. We also taught the law of tithing to Efrain who has an baptismal date for July 25. We had the Baileys come along and shared great experiences of how paying tithing has blessed them. One thing I like is they said that they cannot afford not to pay tithing. Thought that was cool. Efrian accepted to keep the law of tithing after baptism. Well,  I love you all. I know this church is true. Just wanted to leave you all with this scripture. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding….” Proverbs 3:5. Trust in him.
